12 /07/1942 sunk when she struck a mine in the British minefield at Faroes Bank
The crew of 12 managed to escape and reached the Faroese island of Skúvoy in a lifeboat where they were cared for by local inhabitants
The minefield had been laid by the Royal Navy on 11/07/1942
Lieutenant JC Luke RN was not a member of the trawler’s crew
He died at HMS Heron the Royal Naval Air Station at Yeovilton in 06/1942
