A strong southerly wind was blowing and thick fog it was dark which hampered the search, two Grimsby trawlers the Beaumaris Castle and Straphan had tried unsuccessfully to pull her off from below the high cliffs of Skirza Head
Acting Cox Thain took the lifeboat alongside and took off 9 men the remaining 2 were rescued by breeches buoy by the Cliff Rescue Team
